I got an email today from the MSPCA Volunteer coordinator updating on various things happening at MSPCA. As you may or may not know, MSPCA gets all the dogs with behavior problems, and almost all the Pit Bulls in the area. They have a wonderful Animal Behaviorist there working with the dogs, and teaching the staff and volunteers how to work with them, reinforcing behaviors that will help them get adopted.
So the good news today was that the tough group all got adopted. If you remember, I had mentioned Champ, the lovely boy, Rusty (he had to be adopted with his brother, while Rusty is sweet, his brother Roscoe was quite aggressive) and Edna, the sweet lazy girl with a thyroid problem, in my blog. Then there is Lyric, the deaf dog, and Rock, the Pit Bull, who I was going to talk about next time, all got adopted!!!!!
Someone said to the coordinator that MSPCA's Adoption Center, “It’s more like a ‘Transition House;’ those who live there learn better behavior that will help them to cope with their past and prepare for the future.”

Paiva, Champ, JJ & Jesse - MSPCA
Today's puppy that I'd like to show you guys is Paiva, well she's actually 3 years old, look at her face.. she is so sweet. Come check her out!! She is very tired cos she has been out many times today.
I walked 2 hotdogs today, JJ & Jesse, if you are looking for apartment dogs, they are perfect, they are very sweet, when we were at the fenced in park, they both came and sat on my lap for some loving. JJ thought he was fierce, he barked at all the big dogs that walked by..
Oh and how can I forget Edna, she is 7 and has a thyroid problem, one of the walkers carried her back to her cage, the daily log on her all says the same thing, eager to leave MSPCA, likes to hang out, do not like to return, so a lot of the walkers has been carrying her back, would have been easier if she was lighter.. so come check her out.
And finally, good news!! Champ got adopted, in fact he has been back to the MSPCA for puppy obedience classes. Heard his parents are AWESOME!! I didn't see him when I got there today, is that a good sign or is that a bad sign.. do I dare ask?? Glad I did, and it was good news.

Bailey's girl... by Bailey
Check out my girl!!!!! Sophie, she's from Texas, isn't she beautiful??? I met her today at the beach, her mom was playing fetch with her. I had to go say hi, I ended up joining the fun. You guys should know that I am like turbo Bailey, I can outrun anyone.... anyway, we ran after the ball together, side by side, and me ahead of her, when we got closer to the ball, I slowed down, I let her get it every single time. Yeah, I'm smooth... Wow.. I am in love :) And look, we make such a cute couple.

St. Paddy's Day and Facebook Fan Page!
Happy St. Paddy's Day!!
What a beautiful day. Bailey and I went to the beach, he made some new friends and met some old ones today, it was a great beach party. Roro reminded Bailey he could swim, they were the only two that would get out there to retrieve the ball. They were so cute.
On the business front, I started my fan page on Facebook. Become my fan!
Looking forward to the networking luncheon at Back Bay tomorrow.

Just a regular day?
"OMG!! What is going on???? I am frreeeaking out!!!!!! My brother and sisters are hissing at each other, they have gone crazy!!!! Mama went out with Annie this morning and they did not return until the evening. Annie is walking around like she is drunk, she smells funny and she sounds funny, she is not herself.
I am freaking out!!!! They are all hissing and running around me, I just want Mama to protect me. What's going on, what's going on..???" - by Bailey.
"Yeah, you are freaking out, how do you think I feel??? I get put in a crate, no breakfast, transported to my vet, who I usually like, now I am not quite sure. Mom leaves, they knock me out, next thing I know, my teeth hurts, I feel dizzy, I can't even stand up, I am in a cage in a roomful of groggy felines. Mom comes pick me up, I get out of the crate back at my palace, my subordinates are hissing at me left, right and center...what happened to bowing to me when I walk by?? I am walking like a drunk, and Bailey, you think you are having a bad day???" - by Annie.
Took Annie to get her teeth cleaned today. All went well. Very happy. - by Caroline

Another Pet First Aid class!
I went to another Pet First Aid class tonight, held by VETcision at Waltham. They have free classes once a month on various pet first aid topics. I am already certified, but it is always good to go for revisions.
Tonight we had 2 "volunteers", Ben, a Golden mix and Olie, a Devon Rex. Both were such good boys, it was unbelievable! They let us perform CPR on them, wrap bandages on them. Olie even let Dr. Henricks demonstrate how eye drops are administered. I wish I took pictures of them.
I plan on taking Bailey next month, he can be the volunteer :)

Champ - Please come adopt him!!
Champ is our fav at the MSPCA adoption center, statistics has shown that brindle pit bulls have a hard time getting adopted just cos of their color. If you know anyone looking for a dog. Please send them to MSPCA in Boston, give him a chance, he is so sweet. Pass this on. Thanx. He is truly a very sweet boy.
