Champ - Please come adopt him!!

Champ is our fav at the MSPCA adoption center, statistics has shown that brindle pit bulls have a hard time getting adopted just cos of their color. If you know anyone looking for a dog. Please send them to MSPCA in Boston, give him a chance, he is so sweet. Pass this on. Thanx. He is truly a very sweet boy.

Rusty and Kiko

Today I met 2 very precious dogs, Rusty and Kiko. I say this about every dog I meet at MSPCA, and I am going to say it again, how can anyone give them up???

Rusty is a 8 month old Dachshund, he is so sweet, as soon as I opened the cage door, he started to give me kisses, and we have never even met!! :) He was so happy, wanted to greet everyone and every dog. We went into the fenced in area so he could run a bit. Lindsey came over to take photos of him for Petfinder, took him a while to get used to being a model.

Here he is, wanting to play with the other dogs.... aww Rusty, I hope you find a home soon.

Kiko is an 8 month old Australian Shepherd. Bonded with her after we walked around the block once. We went into the fenced in playground and she sat next to me, and turned around and kept giving me kisses, non stop.. she was so sweet. She likes to play fetch, but she prefers to play and run with me.

It was hard to bring them back to the adoption center, to put them back in the cage. But then I know they will get adopted in no time, so that was a comforting thought.

While walking Kiko, I saw the 3 legged pit bull puppy that was from our adoption floor, he got adopted 2 weeks ago. What good news!!! :)

Happy baby pose with a cat?

Last night, I decided to practice a little bit of yoga. I was doing the Happy Baby Pose, when suddenly Annie decided it's cuddle time, she jumped up without warning and sat right between my legs.. seriously??? What kind of cat does that??? That is also one of the reasons why I adore her so much, cos she just does whatever pleases her. She is my idol, my mentor :) I love my Annie.

Just had to share.. and if you don't do yoga, this pic will give you a general idea what the pose looks like..

Harvest aka Harvey

"Hi, my name is Harvey.
My mom is a musician.
She is also a surfer dudess.
I live in Jamaica Plain."

I met Harvey at a party last night, he is the baby of one of my teammates. Yes, I might have been the crazy person that kept following the cat and taking numerous pictures of him, but look at him, how can you not??!!

Just to prove that I did have fun at the party and interacted with humans, here are some of the pictures from the party..

Close to my heart

Annie was only a few weeks old when she was found in Michigan, her mom had died and she had lost the will to eat (and you will never be able to tell now). She was tiny, but very cute, and she had the loudest meow in the adoption room. I took her out and played with her for a while, after I put her back in the cage, she sat by the door and looked at me, she would not stop meowing. I did not want to leave her, but she was too young to come home with me and they could not reserve her for me. I went back daily to see her because I had already fallen in love with her. Finally, one day, Lori, the vet on site, told me if I wanted to take her home, I could. She has been such a joy in my life ever since.

Jeremy is not really my cat, he's Annie's cat. I had to get her a playmate because she was bothering Lucy all the time. I got him about 3 months after I got Annie. He was a very handsome little kitten with the sweetest meow. One look at him and I knew he was mine, I mean Annie's.

I got both Annie and Jeremy at Buddy Dogs Humane Society located in Sudbury. It is a no-kill shelter, very clean, the staff are great. Go check it out, despite the name, they have lots of cats for adoption.

Colby at the Chiropractor

Lately, Colby has been limping, I know he hates to walk and he is very dramatic, and I wouldn't put it pass him that he would pretend to limp so he doesn't have to go for walks.. Once or twice perhaps... but not daily. So I took him to my chiropractor.. yes, you heard me right. My chiropractor is amazing, she uses the the adjuster, I'd like to call it a BB Gun. She seriously can fix anything!

Here he is standing on the platform at the chiropractor's office..anyway, she found out his sacrum was out of whack and his front right paw was a little off. After she adjusted him, he was all happy. He still didn't like going for walks, but at least now he does not limp anymore.

I am living life to the fullest, or am I?

That was the question I was constantly asking myself before I started Urban Paw Print.

After I became single again, I moved from the suburbs back to the city, I decided I was going to live my life to the fullest and have FUN, lots of FUN!!!! As I do not want to look back at my life when I am 80 and say to myself, "Dang! That was it??"

I did a lot, went to networking events on my own, scared to death, but I did it, and was fun. Played in a softball team for two seasons, completely sucked. The team is probably still thanking God that I left. Went to Baron Baptize's one day boot camp, practiced yoga for 5 hours with 400 other people. That was an awesome experience, I did a handstand freestyle first time ever!!! Did the 3Day Breast Cancer walk with my best friend. Started dragon boat racing last year and have been addicted to it ever since, we traveled all along the east coast to race, made some very very good friends. Suddenly I have a lot of friends and my weekends are booked, I am living my life to the fullest, my life is perfect.. or is it???

The answer would be NO!!! Because I did not have a perfectly matched career..it did not match my personality, my interests or my passion. I had known this for years but it was a relatively secure job, I had a great boss, there were elements of the job that I liked, and that I was good at.. why rock the boat?

Then I came across 2 quotes that changed my way of thinking. "If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal" - Albert Einstein.
"Goals are dreams we convert to plans and take action to fulfil" - Zig Ziglar.

I want to live a happy life and I have a dream to fulfill .. and the rest is history...
